RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an Internet technology that allows you to automatically receive on your My RSS Feeds page the latest updates of content from your favourite news websites, blogs, podcasts or Internet TV channels.
Rather than you having to visit these siteson a regular basis looking for the latest updates, the updates are automatically fed to you. RSS also enables your own content (eg your Blog or Contributions at Cagora) to be published automatically onto the web pages of people from around the world.
It is similar to how a TV Show such as 'Seinfeld' has been viewed by millions of people around the world on different TV stations because the shows were 'syndicated' by the producers to these stations. But rather than you having to go to original producers to watch it, you have the convenience of viewing it on your local TV station. The big difference with RSS is that you don't have to watch the TV at a particular time, the content comes to you.
With My RSS Feeds, by simply inputting the RSS Feed URL from a news site or blog
(eg http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/politics ) into the Cagora system on your My RSS Feeds
page, your My RSS Feeds page will pull in the latest feeds every 12 hours from this source for you to see and to share with others, provided the source has a valid RSS Feed Out.
If you have a favourite Blog or Contributions by a person on Cagora or a Favourite Cagora Local or Special Interests Community you can add those also, because Cagora publishes the RSS Feeds Out also. All you need to do is click on the Orange RSS Feed icon on the Community, Blog or Contributions page, or on any outside website, and then copy and paste that URL into the RSS FEED URL box on this page when you are logged in, and then push the ADD button.
For Example: Clicking the Orange Button on Rob Anderson's Blog takes you to a page with the
URL http://cagora.com/blog/3/feed.
Similarly http://dogs.usa.cagora.com/taxonomy/term/925/0/feed is the Feed URL you will find if you click on the Orange Icon to subscribe to the content updates within the Dogs Community at
